Are they insured? Insurance is expensive for lawn care providers, and only legitimate companies are going to be insured. But consider a rock thrown by a mower into a house window, or a fire started by leaves on a lawn mower muffler. I’ve seen them both. Insurance protects the homeowner from a major disaster. We carry $2 million in coverage. I’d ask your provider if they are insured.
What’s the cost? Intuitively you might think a part time operation or individual may be less expensive. It’s not always the case. We have enough business that our routes are very tight and efficient. We buy wholesale, we get fleet pricing discounts. But check it out yourself. You can get a price for regular mowing for most lawns right here without even providing your name or email. How do you pay? Leaving a check or paying cash is hard to coordinate. Sending payment Venmo or the like is an extra step. We do automatic credit card drafts after each service. Need to update your card? You can do it securely right online or call the office and talk to Teresa
Will they show? Lack of dependability of their current provider is the most common reason we hear as to why people are looking for a new one. Part time guys can be fine. But what if they are sick/injured/on vacation? Look for a company that’s got at least a few people working for them so they can cover these type of situations. We enter 2025 as our 26th year in business.
Are they any good? Each individual lawn service can be different. But a company that’s been in business a while knows how to do the work. There’s no substitute for experience. Experienced, trained technicians are important for quality work. We’ve been here since 2000. We stand behind our work. If you aren’t happy with it, we’ll fix it until you are. Can you communicate with them? Individuals or smaller companies may not have the infrastructure to communicate easily with their clients. It’s hard to hear the phone ring when you’re mowing a lawn. We have office staff dedicated to answering the phone and emails. You’ll get emails about rain delays and scheduling updates. We’ll return missed calls and emails the same day, sometimes even after hours.
Are they local? People driving across the metroplex to service your lawn are probably not going to work out long term or be dependable. If there is a delay or you need to meet with them, are they around to meet or makeup their schedule? We only service where we live. Take a look at our service map.
